Questions & answers

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the monthly fee?

Each arrangement has a clear scope outlined in its description. The Home-Style arrangement covers your furnished room, three daily meals, shared space access, and bi-weekly housekeeping. The Comprehensive arrangement adds a private room, weekly laundry, transportation coordination, and your personal staff liaison. There are no hidden fees — everything is discussed openly before you commit to anything.

Is medical or nursing care provided at Timbervale?

Timbervale is a residential boarding home without medical or nursing services. We are designed for seniors who are largely independent and simply want a warm, well-run home with good meals and engaged daily life. If a resident requires health monitoring or personal care, we are happy to help you explore other local resources that may suit those needs.

Can a resident bring their own furniture or belongings?

Yes, absolutely. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with photographs, blankets, books, small furniture pieces, and other meaningful items from home. We want each room to feel like yours, not just a place you're staying.

How does the Garden & Nature Connection Program work?

The program runs year-round and adapts to each season — spring and summer focus on gardening and outdoor walks, autumn brings harvest activities, and winter shifts indoors with herb growing and bird feeder crafting. Participation is open and self-directed; no one is expected to do anything they're not comfortable with. A program facilitator provides gentle guidance and supplies everything needed.

What are the meal arrangements like?

Meals are home-cooked three times daily, with menus drawing on hearty prairie cooking traditions and seasonal produce. We bake bread on-site and try to accommodate dietary preferences and sensitivities when we're made aware of them. Mealtimes are a shared experience and an important part of the daily rhythm at Timbervale.

How do I arrange a visit before making any decisions?

Just reach out through the contact form below or give us a call. We'll arrange a time that works for you and your family to come see the residence, meet some of the staff, and get a feel for daily life here — with no pressure whatsoever. A visit is the best way to see whether Timbervale feels right.

Is there a waiting list or is space currently available?

Availability changes from time to time. We'd encourage you to reach out even if you're not planning a move right away — we can let you know what's currently open, discuss your timeline, and keep you informed if something becomes available that suits your situation.
